The Allegheny County Health Department again is offering free
smoke alarms. ACHD is giving priority to residents of 17 communities
with fire rates that far exceed the countywide average, including
several in the Mon-Yough area. The smoke alarms come with free
installation and a fire safety education presentation. Local
priority areas include Braddock, Duquesne,
Forward

Township , Homestead, McKeesport,
North Braddock, Versailles and Wilkinsburg. Also covered are Collier
Township , Etna and the Pittsburgh
neighborhoods of Allentown, Beltzhoover, Carrick, Hazelwood,
Homewood, Lincoln-Lemington and Perry South. Funding for the program
is provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. To schedule an
