PEGGY FINE-HORNYAK
Peggy Jean Fine-Hornyak, 75, of North
Versailles, formerly of the Mon Valley, died Monday, January 3, 2011, at home.
She was born July 23, 1935, in Slab Fork, W.Va., daughter of the late Leland
Arthur and Lillian (Gilbert) Bowland. She was a member of the Glassport American
Legion, White Oak American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Dravosburg American Legion,
Croatian Club in Versailles and the Irish Club in Monroeville.
She is survived by her husband Michael Hornyak; daughters Barbara Smith-Harden
of Wheeling, W.Va., Darlene Cooper of Belle Vernon, and Marlene Smith of Warwood,
W.Va.; sons Russell Smith of Yukon, Donald Smith of Monessen, Matthew Smith of
Erie, and Glenn Fine of Forward Township;
sister Sue Gido of Belle Vernon; 14 grandchildren; 24 greatgrandchildren; two
greatgreat-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received today from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. in
the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 North Second Ave., Elizabeth, Pa.,
15037.
Funeral service will be Friday, January 7, 2011, at noon in the Paul E. Bekavac
Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Thomas D. Carr officiating. Burial will be in
Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills.
